Meet Alyssa
Born and raised on a sugar cane farm in the picturesque town of Maclean, Alyssa developed a deep connection with animals and the natural world from an early age. This bond became a foundation for her personal healing journey and ultimately inspired her passion for supporting others.
Alyssa's approach is informed by her lived experience in navigating mental health challenges as well as her professional qualifications, including:
- Bachelor of Counselling
- Certificate in Equine Assisted Mental Health
- Somatic Experiencing Training (ongoing)
Alyssa is registered with:
- Psychotherapy and Counselling federation of Australia (PACFA)
- Animal Therapies Limited (ATL)
Drawing on the experience of working as a school counsellor and youth support worker in a special needs school, Alyssa brings a grounded, trauma-informed approach to her sessions. She believes in the power of relationship between humans, animals, and the land to foster healing, personal growth, and resilience.
